Julie Cochran and Elvis Bingham

Broughton and Regina Cochran of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Julie Marie Cochran to Elvis Lee Bingham, son of Otis and Brenda Bingham of Pendergrass.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Bertie Elzey of Cumming, the late Grover Elzey, Mary Lee Cochran of Canton and the late Emmett Cochran.

She is a 1997 graduate of Lakeview Academy in Gainesville. She graduated in 2001 from Brenau University in Gainesville with a bachelor's degree in conflict resolution and legal studies. She is employed as a mental health technician with Laurelwood Mental Health, Alcohol and Abuse Services of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Viola Alexander, the late Morris Parker and the late Lee and Ida Bingham.

He is a 1996 graduate of Jackson County High School in Jefferson. He is president of M&E Custom Homes in Gainesville.

The couple plan to wed Sept. 19, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Gainesville.
