Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Scoville of Gainesville and Lt. Col. and Mrs. David T. Bell of Heidelberg, Germany, announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Jessica Brianne Bell to Mr. Tao John Ventre, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Gordon of Gainesville and Mr. John Ventre III of Asheville, N.C.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Avery of Hoschton, Mr. and Mrs. Gates Scoville of Lula, Mr. Millard Bell of Tampa, Fla., and the late Mrs. Violet Bell.

She is a 2005 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. She plans to graduate in 2009 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in science education.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Olson and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Ventre.

He graduated in 2008 from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro with a bachelor's degree in journalism. He is employed as a butcher with Earth Fare in Athens.

The couple plan to wed May 16, 2009, at Elachee Nature Center in Gainesville.
