Tim and Joy Beck of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Kristen Nicole Beck to Benjamin Odum Souther, son of Stan and Julie Souther of Murrayville, and Tonya and Doug Henley of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ramona Norrell of Gainesville and the late Harold Norrell, and John and Reba Beck of Gainesville.

She is a 2010 graduate of Chestatee High School in Gainesville. She plans to graduate in 2016 from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed as a nurse extern at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in Atlanta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mary Nell White of Gainesville and the late Tony White, Raymond and Barbara Souther of Murrayville, Ken and Linda Adams of Gainesville, and Jack and Georgia Frost of Charlotte, N.C.

He is a 2010 graduate of Chestatee High School in Gainesville. He plans to graduate in 2015 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He is employed as a student athlete in the football program at the University of Georgia in Athens.

The couple plan to wed May 16, 2015, at The Densmore Farm in Cleveland.
