Col. and Mrs. L. Dale Autry of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Laura Elizabeth Autry to Mr. Brett Eugene Fowler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Fowler Jr. of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Violet Fairbanks of Lisbon, Maine, the late Mr. Charles Fairbanks, Mrs. Juanita Autry of Athens and the late Mr. Herman Autry.

She is a 2004 graduate of Clarke Central High School in Athens. She graduated in 2008 from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in advertising. She is employed as an interactive marketing executive with Red Clay Interactive in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs.Robert Lee Fowler Sr. of Gainesville, Mrs. Nancy Moore Hester of Tucker, the late Mr. Gene Hester, and Mrs. Joan Burleson of Arden, N.C.

He is a 2004 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2008 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in risk management and insurance. He is employed as a life, health and benefits agent with Turner Wood & Smith Agency Inc., in Gainesville.

The couple plan to wed June 4, 2011, in Gainesville.
