Marvin and Vera Mae Davis of Gainesville celebrated their 50th anniversary on July 4, 2007. A reception held in their honor at the Elks Club in Gainesville was given by their children Tina and Greg Hope, Jan and Kevin Pool, Gail and Wesley Wacaster and Leisha and Ray Grizzle, all of Gainesville, and their grandchildren Blake and Kim Wacaster of Hoschton and Dustin Wacaster and Jodie Wacaster, both of Gainesville. Caroline Clark assisted at the reception. A host of relatives and friends honored the couple with their attendance.

The couple have five children and three grandchildren.
