Italian guest conductor Romolo Gessi wields the baton for the Gainesville Symphony Orchestra’s "Singing Strings" performance at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, in the Pearce Auditorium on the Brenau University campus.

Saturday’s performance features Mozart’s Serenade No. 13 in G Major from "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik," Elgar’s Serenade for Strings op 20 and Dvorak’s Serenade for Strings op 22.

Gessi’s appearance for the chamber orchestra concert is part of a reciprocal program in which GSO Music Director Gregory Pritchard will direct an orchestra in Italy later this year.

A reception will follow Saturday’s concert.

Tickets are $30 for adults, $27 for seniors 65 and older and $12 for students. For more information call 770-532-5727.
