The Second City comedy troupe will return to the University of Georgia to present its sketches, songs and improvisations.

Back by popular demand, The Second City returns to the University of Georgia Performing Arts Center with its repertoire of sketches, songs and improvisation.

Whether it’s ripped from the morning headlines or a classic gem from their archives, The Second City provides comic entertainment that The New York Times praises as “legendary.” And the comedy troupe is making its fourth appearance in Ramsey Hall at UGA, following sold-out shows in 2010, 2012 and 2014.

“Athens loves The Second City,” Performing Arts Center Director George C. Foreman said. “The company brings a brand-new show to Athens for 2016, called ‘Hooking Up with The Second City.’”

Based in Chicago, The Second City has launched the careers of countless comedy stars including Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Amy Poehler, Jason Sudekis, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bill Murray and Joan Rivers.

The comedy improv troupe will perform at 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, and 6 and 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, in Ramsey Concert Hall.

Tickets are $40 with special discounts for UGA students. Tickets can be purchased at the Performing Arts Center box office, online at www.pac.uga.edu or by calling 706-542-4400 or toll free at 888-289-8497.
