The rise and fall of a warrior in medieval Scotland is a story only William Shakespeare could write. But the cadets of Riverside Military Academy will make his story come to life in “Macbeth.”
The story focuses on the soldier, Macbeth, who is named a Scottish noble following a war. Then a prophesy from three witches leads him and his wife to kill the king of Scotland. The play dramatizes the damaging physical and psychological effects of their actions.
The free performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9, and 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11. Both shows will be in the Carlos and Sandra Cervantes Theatre at the academy, 2001 Riverside Drive, in Gainesville.
Cast members include: Brandon Oliveira, Ivan Pearson, Demarko Hooper, Mitchell Rodriguez, James Hart, Adam Stumpf, Drake Roberts, Derek Roach, Lawrence Primus, Phillip Middleton, Imran Ali, Paul McCranie, Andrew Pedry, James Blane, Sawyer Sarratt, Dale Haase, Bakari Emeri, Kevin McKeller, Alex Hancock, Kirby Smith, Mary Abbott, Marissa Brown, Jennifer Smith, Kelly Beavers and Stephanie Patten.
