Bargain hunters browse through the items at the Gainesville Civic Center on during the Junior League of Gainesville-Hall County’s Annual Thrift Sale preview party last year. Visitors pay $5 to enter the sale and also pay double the marked price for the privilege of getting first crack at the choicest merchandise.
The Gainesville Civic Center soon will be filled with affordable clothing and home goods on sale to benefit the Junior League of Gainesville-Hall County. The annual thrift sale benefits league programs such as the Feeding the Future Program, which feeds more than 100 families every month, according to Emily Drummonds with the Junior League. This year is the 50th anniversary of the sale.
