The Cast-Iron Chef Gainesville competition continues this week with a peach competition between local chefs.

The event is set for 3 to 4 p.m. Friday on the corner of Main and Spring Street at the Historic Downtown Gainesville Market On The Square.

The first competition was won by Luna’s Restaurant with its fresh salsa. The competition continues in which local chefs are challenged to make at least one dish using fresh products at the Market, with peaches as this week’s highlighted ingredient.

Chefs Chris Jones of The Monkey Barrel, Oscar Saenz of Mestizo Southwest Grill, Kyle Marrujo of Blonde, Paco Rebollar of Luna’s Restaurant and Dannella Burnett of Oakwood Occasions Catering will compete live at the market.
