High school tennis: Gainesville boys and girls both sweep Apalachee

Hannah Williams won in straight sets at No. 1 singles for the Gainesville girls in its 5-0 win against Aplachee on Tuesday in Winder. At No. 2 singles, Kate Abernathy won for the Red Elephants, while Emmaline Dyer won in the third singles match. 

In doubles, Callie Patterson/Mia Lily and Page Thompson/Caroline Brown won for the Red Elephants. 

Up next, Gainesville visits Flowery Branch on Thursday. 

GAINESVILLE BOYS 5, APALACHEE 0: Dylan Pineda, Phillip Mady and Truett Keener each won in singles for the Red Elephants on Tuesday. In doubles, Caleb Anderson/Charlie Burns and Andrew Elliott/Samuel Holt won for Gainesville. 

On Thursday, Gainesville visits Flowery Branch. 


JOHNSON BOYS 4, CHESTATEE 0: Ramon Aguilar, Ethan Mann, Rudy Orosco and Jose Gomez each scored for the Knights on Tuesday. Up next, Johnson visits Pinecrest Academy on March 3.
