High school baseball: Flowery Branch boys take down Hoover (AL) in nine innings

Kaleb Freeman and J.B. Bell batted in a pair of runs in the top of the ninth inning Friday evening to lift Flowery Branch (7-0) to a 3-1 victory over Hoover to close out a marathon game. 

Zander Sechrist got the start for Flowery Branch, throwing nine strikeouts. 

Up next, the Falcons will play a doubleheader today against Helena and Cullman high schools. 

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 19, LUMPKIN COUNTY 0: Holden Cooper threw a no-hitter for the Lions (3-1) as they blasted Lumpkin County in three innings. Andrew Estes and Skyler Thellman were both 3 for 3 at the plate, combining for 5 RBIs and 6 runs scored. 

Lakeview Academy will play a doubleheader today at West Hall, with Game 1 starting at 1 p.m.
