Outfielder Stefan Gartrell extended his single-season home run franchise record with his 21st this year for the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves and Mauro Gomez also homered, but it wasn't enough at the Louisville Bats won 7-5 in 10 innings on Tuesday at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville.
Third baseman Brandon Hicks also had a strong night for Gwinnett (54-43) with three hits, and shortstop Travis Pastornicky got his first hit since getting a promotion from Double-A Mississippi.
Christian Martinez pitched five innings for the G-Braves and allowed four runs and 11 hits. Gwinnett plays host to Louisville at 7:05 at Coolray Field.
