A four-run eighth inning was not enough for the Gwinnett Braves to overcome five Louisville home runs Monday night. The Bats downed the G-Braves 11-5 in the series finale in Louisville.
Darnell McDonald paced the Bats (38-32) with two solo home runs on a 3-for-5 night.
Gwinnett’s Tony Armas picked up his first loss, allowing nine runs, three earned, on nine hits in four innings.
Three of those nine hits were home runs.
Greg Norton, in his first major-league rehab start with Gwinnett, was 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs. Reid Gorecki was also 2-for-4 with a homer to make it a total of seven home runs in the game.
