HS Scoreboard: Jackson's 19 points push North Hall to 8-AAAA semifinal win over North Oconee
Trojans will face Buford in Saturday's region championship game in Toccoa

Sam Jackson scored 19 points as North Hall’s boys topped North Oconee 55-37 in the Region 8-AAAA semifinal game Friday at Stephens County. With the win, the Trojans advance to face Buford in the tournament championship game at 8:30 tonight in Toccoa.

Against the Titans, Carson Heinen had 12 points and Evan Easton finished with 10 for North Hall.

RIVERSIDE MILITARY BOYS 47, GREENE COUNTY 36: Javon Thompson put up a game-high 16 points for the Eagles on Friday in the Region 8-AA semifinal at Rabun County High, securing a spot in tonight’s tournament championship against the home-standing Wildcats in Tiger.

Riverside Military rode a 14-1 scoring run in the first quarter to take control of the game early.

Davis Short scored 14 points for the Eagles, while Juwan Thompson finished with 10 points.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN REACHES FINAL FOUR: The North Georgia Christian boys basketball team advanced to the final four in the GICAA state tournament with a 77-36 victory over Central Christian Academy Friday night in Flowery Branch.

Will Owens lead the Chargers with 23 points (including seven 3-pointers). Norris Rettiger added 16 points, and Justin Law finished with 12 for North Georgia Christian.

North Georgia Christian will next play Friday night at Gordon State College.

WEST HALL BOYS 2, WHITE COUNTY 1: Isaac Castruita scored both goals for the Spartans, with his brother Richie Castruita registering an assist on Friday.

West Hall (1-0) hosts Johnson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

JOHNSON BOYS 4, HABERSHAM CENTRAL 2: Alex Penaloza scored a hat trick for the Knights on Friday.
Fabian Abarca also scored a goal, while Bryant Anaya, Marco Vazquez, Edgar Torres and Rigo Campa picked up an assist each.

Johnson (1-0) visits West Hall 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

JOHNSON GIRLS 3, HABERSHAM CENTRAL 2: Lady Knights’ Evelin Avitia converted a penalty kick in the final minutes on Friday.

Dani Malone and Itzel Rivera scored the other two goals.

Johnson (1-0) visits West Hall 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

EAST HALL BOYS 7, ELBERT COUNTY 0: Leo Toledo scored four goals, Carlos Castrejon notched two and Sergio Turcios added a strike to help the Vikings (2-0) to their second win of the season.

Ruben Ramirez and Turcios both had two assists each, while Castrejon, Toledo and Kyrie Willis also recorded assists.
East Hall will next travel to White County High on Tuesday.

EAST HALL GIRLS 1, ELBERT COUNTY 0: Ana Elizareza scored the game-winner for the Lady Vikings with an assist by Kimberly Quintanilla. Goalkeeper Mariana Hernandez had eight saves for East Hall.

RIVERSIDE MILITARY ACADEMY 5, JACKSON COUNTY 0: Samuel Palmer scored a hat trick on Thursday with three unassisted goals.

Jorge Quesada and Carlos Carrillo scored the other two goals, while Carlos Pablovich and Elijah Crook each had an assist.
Riverside Military Academy (1-0) next plays against Chestatee on Tuesday.

EAST HALL BOYS 10, PRINCE AVENUE 0 (THURSDAY’S GAME): Leo Toledo scored six goals and had two assists.
Sergio Turcios scored three goals and Carlos Castrejon had four assists.

PRINCE AVENUE GIRLS 4, EAST HALL 2 (THURSDAY’S GAME): Kimberly Quintanilla and Jade Reed each scored goals for the Lady Vikings.
