Callie McDonald had three RBIs on Tuesday as the White County softball team defeated North Hall 5-1 in Gainesville.
Laura Sangster (2-for-3), Sarabeth Cummins (2-for-4) and Stephanie Satterfield (2-for-4) all had a multi-hit game for White County (6-1, 3-0 Region 8-AAA).
Cummins and Satterfield each added two runs scored for the Lady Warriors.
McDonald finished the day 3-for-4 with a double for White County, which visits Franklin County at 5:55 p.m. Thursday.
BUFORD 15, AVONDALE 0 (THREE INNINGS): Mickala Price threw two innings of no-hit softball to earn the win on Tuesday in Buford.
Price struck out five from the circle, while Lanae Hodnett had three RBIs at the plate for Class AA’s No. 1-ranked Buford (11-2, 1-0 Region 6-AA).
Aly Hicks, Chelsie Thomas and Whitney Wolfe each had a hit for the Lady Wolves, who visit Class AAAAA’s Grayson at 5:55 p.m. Monday.
JEFFERSON 8, OGLETHORPE COUNTY 3: With 13 hits, the Lady Dragons won Tuesday in Jefferson. Kasey McDonald, Paige Pate and Ashley Boyd each went 2-for-3 on the night for Jefferson, with Boyd driving in two runs and McDonald adding three runs scored.
Kara Perry earned the complete-game win with eight strikeouts for Jefferson (10-5-1, 4-1 Region 8-AA).
Cason Anderson also drove in two runs for the Lady Dragons, who play host to Jackson County at 5:55 p.m. Thursday.
Volleyball
JEFFERSON WINS TRI-MATCH AT EAST JACKSON: Led by Taylor Cramsey’s 21 aces and eleven kills, the Lady Dragons defeated East Jackson and East Hall on Tuesday in Commerce.
Amanda Daniel had 26 assists, five aces and three kills on the day for Jefferson (17-5, 6-0 Area 8 AA/A).
In the 25-11, 25-16 win over East Jackson, Cassie Metcalf had two aces and two kills. Savanna Holland had three kills in the 25-11, 25-5 win over East Hall.
Eden Starnes had four aces and 11 kills, while Sarah Wood added six aces and five kills on the day for Jefferson, which plays faces Jackson County at 6 p.m. Thursday.
East Hall visits Habersham Central for a playdate with Salem at 5 p.m. Thursday.
LAKEVIEW ACADEMY DROPS TWO AT JACKSON COUNTY: The Lady Lions lost to Jackson County 25-16, 25-14 and to Cedar Shoals 19-25, 25-22, 25-20 on Tuesday in Jefferson.
Jamie Nixon had seven kills and Molly Gay had seven assists for Lakeview in the loss to Cedar Shoals.
Lakeview Academy (10-14, 4-4 Area 8-AA/A) visits Tallulah Falls for a playdate with Lumpkin County at 5 p.m. Thursday.
