Makenzie Bryant led North Hall with 16 digs, three aces and two kills in wins against Lakeview Academy (25-18, 25-17) and Johnson (25-13, 25-12) on Thursday in Gainesville.

Julie Daniels tallied nine kills, eight digs, five aces and a block for the Lady Trojans, and Kristina Gregory added 23 assists, five digs and a kill, while Jen Mullican had 12 kills and two blocks.

Juliana Paschall had a 12-point service run with five aces and five digs for North Hall, and Sydney Cleveland recorded nine digs, eight kills, an ace and a block.

For Lakeview Academy, Katie White led with 19 digs, 10 kills and two aces, and Shelby Ross had 10 kills, eight digs and five aces in the loss to North Hall and a win against Johnson (25-16, 25-17). Bailey Towles had 14 assists and eight aces, and Peaches Shipley added five kills and three aces.

The Lady Trojans and Lady Lions both play in the Battle at the Branch tournament on Saturday in Flowery Branch.

CHESTATEE TAKES PAIR: Melanie Smith led Chestatee with 12 kills, four aces and three blocks in wins against West Forsyth (14-25, 25-18, 26-24) and Decatur (25-21, 25-10), and a loss to Roswell (25-15, 25-8) on Thursday in Cumming.

Gabby Castillo added 14 digs for the Lady War Eagles, and Tyler Bennett had 13 digs, eight kills and three aces. Maddie Myers tallied 11 digs, and Haley King had 14 digs and three kills.

BUFORD WINS THREE AT GWINNETT TOURNEY: Bree Horrocks led the Lady Wolves on the court and had 13 kills in wins against Central Gwinnett (25-7, 25-11), Dacula (25-9, 25-13) and Norcross (22-25, 25-17, 25-22) in the Gwinnett County Championships on Thursday at Mill Creek High in Hoschton.

Maggie Roper had 24 kills for Buford (18-8), Morgan Mitchell added 53 assists, and Gabby Curry had 13 aces.

The Lady Wolves play in the second round of the tournament on Saturday in Hoschton.

WEST HALL WINS AGAINST LUMPKIN: Kendall Courson had a 6-point service run against Lumpkin County in the third match during the second game of a doubleheader to lead West Hall to victory on Thursday in Dahlonega.

The Lady Spartans (14-11) took Game 1 23-25, 25-14, 25-15 against Lumpkin County before winning Game 2 25-21, 15-25, 26-24.

Kelsi Jones led West Hall with 28 digs and 19 kills.

The Lady Spartans visit East Hall for a tri-match with Jackson County on Tuesday in Gainesville.

EAST HALL SWEEPS TRI-MATCH: Kara Hix recorded 36 digs, five kills, four aces and an assist to lead East Hall in wins against Rabun County (25-21, 25-14) and Madison County (25-14, 25-21) on Thursday in Gainesville.

Tarryn Long had 26 kills, 10 digs and three aces for the Lady Vikings (23-12, 2-4 Area 5-AAA), and Cassida Shockley added 33 assists, seven digs, two aces and a kill.

East Hall plays host to Jackson County and West Hall on Tuesday in Gainesville.

JEFFERSON SPLITS PAIR: The Lady Dragons beat North Forsyth 25-20, 25-22 before falling to Habersham Central 25-21, 21-25, 25-19 on Thursday in Mount Airy.

Jefferson (26-7) visits Wesleyan on Tuesday for a quad-match in Norcross.


BANKS COUNTY 18, WEST HALL 1: Haley Warner hit a home run, a single and had four RBIs and three runs scored for Banks County on Thursday in Homer.

Brenna Parson went 2 for 3 with four RBIs, two singles and a run scored for the Lady Leopards (11-5, 10-4 Region 7-AAA), and Kaitlyn Stewart was 2 for 3 with a single, a double, two RBIs and three runs scored. Morgan Rylee had a RBI and two runs scored in a 2-for-2 performance, and Lindsey Elliott went 3 for 3 with three singles.

Mallory Parson earned the win pitching.

Banks County visits Buford at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday in Buford.

JEFFERSON SWEEPS DOUBLEHEADER: The Lady Dragons took Game 1 against Oglethorpe County 3-2 behind Olivia Husted’s eight-strikeout performance, and Caitlin Cantrell earned the win pitching in a 15-0 victory in Game 2 on Thursday in Jefferson.

Erin Jackson led Jefferson’s offense in Game 1 with an RBI and two runs scored in a 2-for-3 performance, and Megan Faulkner and Arynn Baker each had a hit and an RBI.

In Game 2, Emily Holman went 2 for 2 with four RBIs for the Lady Dragons (19-5, 11-1 Region 8-AA), and Savannah Snapp was 3 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Jefferson visits Buford for a mini-tournament with Georgia Military College at 10 a.m. Saturday in Buford.
