The Banks County High baseball team wrapped up its 2009 season with an eight-inning, 7-6 loss to Westminster in Game 3 of the Class AA second-round playoff series Thursday in Homer.
Trailing by one in the bottom of the fifth, the Leopards (19-10) tied the game to stay alive, but were unable to even the score again after the Wildcats (17-11) scored in the eighth.
Tyler Hulsey led Banks County at the plate with a home run and an RBI. Justin Bowen was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI, Kyle Smith was 2-for-4 with a run and Justin Gibbs and Jeff Smith each recorded RBIs.
Westminster advances to the state quarterfinals, where it visits Bleckley County.
