One man sustained minor injuries when his Nissan Sentra struck a parked train Monday afternoon in Gainesville.
Gainesville Police suspect the driver, who has not yet been identified, was under the influence when his vehicle left Chestnut Street on a curve and struck a parked train shortly after 3 p.m.
Gainesville Police Lt. Brian Kelly said the man was headed toward Bradford Street on Chestnut when he failed to maintain a curve, drove up an embankment and struck the parked train.
No one was in the train when it was hit, Kelly said.
Gainesville Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
