Two arrested in First Street burglaries

A Gainesville man and a teenager were arrested Wednesday in connection with burglaries last week at two homes on First Street, according to a news release from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

Zachary Tyler Williamson, 21, of Gainesville was charged with one count of burglary for allegedly taking a flat-screen TV, speakers and folder containing miscellaneous paperwork and U.S. currency from a First Street home on Oct. 23, according to Col. Jeff Strickland.

The currency and paperwork have been located and returned to the victim.

A 14-year-old boy also was arrested and charged with one count of burglary for allegedly taking $3,000 in jewelry from a second home on First Street on Saturday, according to the release.

Williamson is being held at the hall County Jail pending a $10,000 conditional bond.

The juvenile was released to the custody of his parents.

The incidents are still under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigations Division.
