A pedestrian was killed while crossing Ga. 60 at the Fieldale Farms Murrayville plant late Wednesday, authorities said.

The Georgia State Patrol said the 50-year-old woman failed to yield to an oncoming Jeep Cherokee while walking across the road shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday. The victim was struck and killed by the Jeep.

The 22-year-old driver of the Jeep and three passengers were uninjured.

The driver of the car does not face charges, the state patrol said.

The victim’s name was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
