Midland Station Coffee Company to close June 28
0329 MIDLAND STATION1
Midland Station Coffee Co. owner Tony Jonovitch runs the front counter at the downtown Gainesville coffee and sandwich shop.

Midland Station Coffee Co. will no longer grace the corner of Green Street and Washington Street in downtown Gainesville with its fresh brews and sandwiches.

The shop, which is operated by Lakewood Baptist Church, will close to the public at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 28.

Tom Smiley, senior pastor at Lakewood Baptist Church, said in a statement that Midland Station Coffee Co. is looking into relocating in order to reduce operating costs.

Although the business is closing, it will fulfill private reservation commitments until the end of the building’s lease period on Sep. 30.

“Midland Station has enjoyed meaningful success since it first opened,” Smiley said in a statement. “We are grateful for all the loyal patrons of Midland Station.”
