Lanier Islands has nearly 300 job openings for Winter Adventure
1014jobs
Lanier Islands in 2014 held winter activities as part of SnowWorld. More activities are planned this upcoming holiday season.

Lanier Islands is hiring nearly 300 to fill jobs at its Winter Adventure attraction, which is open Nov. 20 through Feb. 15.

Job openings include those for gate attendants, retail sales, servers and snow groomers. Yes — snow groomers.

That particular job involves working with snow blowers, shovels and rakes to move snow into the appropriate places, according to Cindy Wahl, electronic marketing manager with the resort in South Hall County. Snow will be in the wave pool, Fun Dunker area and Wiggle Waves.

“It will be very similar to Lanier World water park,” Wahl said. “The rides, slides and attractions have been re-engineered, though. Instead of going down the slides on water, you’re going down on sleds and snow.”

The annual Magical Nights of Lights display also will return this year.

Other job openings include admissions, photo, zip line and ride attendants, accounting auditors, hostesses, cooks, traffic attendants, EMTs, bartenders, front desk agents and social media interns. Experience required varies by position.

Job seekers can apply online or attend one of the following job fairs at the resort at 7000 Lanier Islands, Buford:

• Oct. 20: 4-7 p.m., Summer House

• Oct. 27: 4-7 p.m., Human Resources Building

• Nov. 3, 4-7 p.m., Summer House

• Nov. 7, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Pine Isle Center

• Nov. 10, 4-7 p.m., Summer House

“Ideal candidates for the positions for which we are currently hiring must come equipped with a big smile, as well as a sincere desire to help people and the willingness to work hard and have fun at the same time,” said Sandra Simon-Grindy, director of human resources.
