Riding a trend of online grocery shopping, the Kroger store in North Hall has started ClickList, a service that allows customers to place orders online and pick up groceries when convenient.

“Our hope with ClickList is to provide greater convenience and satisfaction while helping our Gainesville customers save time during the day with their busy schedules,” said Felix Turner, corporate affairs manager for Kroger’s Atlanta Division.

“By adding same-day ordering and pickup, we strive to meet our customers’ needs with the personalized shopping experience they expect.”

Six parking spaces marked by blue ClickList signs are in front of the store at 3630 Thompson Bridge Road, just north of Mount Vernon Road.

The only other Kroger in Hall County that offers ClickList so far is the Kroger Marketplace at 1931 Jesse Jewell Parkway in Gainesville, spokeswoman Haley Sheram said.

Customers can shop for more than 40,000 items on ClickList, including fresh produce, meat and seafood, dairy and frozen products, before selecting a location and time slot convenient to them, according to a press release.

The service includes same-day pick up. Items are delivered to the customer at the pickup location within minutes of arrival.

An associate will put together the order and store the items in proper temperature zones until the customer arrives.

“When you arrive at your store, simply follow the signs to the ClickList pickup area and follow the instructions on the sign you see there,” the Kroger website states. “An associate will bring your order out to your vehicle.”

The service is free for the customer’s first three orders, then there is a $4.95 service fee.
