A motorcyclist killed in a head-on collision Saturday on McEver Road has been identified as Douglass Cole, 39, of Sugar Hill.

The man was driving a Honda motorcycle south on McEver Road when he traveled into the northbound lane, sideswiped a Toyota Camry and then struck a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV head-on, said Georgia State Patrol Operator Brandon Marcus.

No one else was injured in the wreck, which happened at 5:53 p.m., Marcus said.

Authorities had been withholding identity of the motorcyclist pending notification of next of kin.

Hall County Deputy Coroner John Abernathy said today that officials had reached the family, which is in Canada and is making arrangements to bring Cole to that country.
