In the state literary meet Gainesville High School had multiple students earn high finishes. 

John Bush took first place for his humorous interpretation of the play “Harvey” by Mary Chase. Bennett Burns was third in argumentative essay written on the subject of social media.

Jameson Murray came in fourth for male soloist. Ella Tucker was finished fourth in international speaking on the topic of the Taliban.
