Danny’s Donuts is aiming to open its third location in the Kroger-anchored Royal Lakes Marketplace off Winder Highway in Oakwood by late September.
“It’s about 80 percent done,” owner Andy Nuon said.
At 1,000 square feet, it will be the smallest of the three locations, but it will feature some outdoor seating, Nuon said.
He compared the setting to Starbucks, where people will be able to “sit outside and have their coffee and doughnut.”
And the menu will be the same as at the other stores.
Doughnuts will include cream-filled varieties, as well as glazed and ones topped with icing and sprinkles — and one featuring maple icing and bacon.
Also on the menu: apple fritters, cinnamon rolls, bear claws, croissants, as well as breakfast burritos, breakfast bagels, muffins, smoothies and coffees.
The first Danny’s Donuts opened in September 2016 at 417 Main St. SW in Gainesville, just behind the CVS Pharmacy on Jesse Jewell Parkway.
The second location opened on Valentine’s Day this year at 975 Dawsonville Highway, Gainesville, in the Kohl’s-anchored McEver Corners Shopping Center.
Even while opening the second store, Nuon had his eyes on South Hall.
Winder Highway has a fair amount of traffic, and the store will be off Sloan Mill Road — leading to nearby Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club is nearby — and highly residential Martin Road.
“It’s not only (a lot of traffic),” Nuon has said. “There’s no doughnuts over there.”
He is considering a fourth store in Hall County but isn’t sure of a location yet.
“I want to make sure the first three are settled,” Nuon said.
