Michael T. Underwood has joined Peach State Bank and Trust as a senior vice president and commercial loan officer.

Underwood has more than 36 years of banking experience, most recently at Foothills Community Bank in Dawsonville. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance at North Georgia College in 1982.

He graduated from the University of Virginia for retail bank management in 1987 and bank investments and financial management at the University of South Carolina in 2001.

Underwood is past chairman of the board of the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce and past president of the Dawsonville Kiwanis Club.
