A 63-year-old Hall County man was charged with manufacturing marijuana after five plants were seized in a search, according to authorities.

Phillip Adams was arrested and charged Friday with possessing and manufacturing marijuana. He was booked in to the Hall County Jail and has since been released.

Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad agents and the Georgia National Guard Counterdrug Task Force performed a search Friday at a home in the 3000 block of Cleveland Highway in Gainesville.

“During the course of the search, agents seized five marijuana plants with a value of $10,000, a quantity of loose marijuana less than 1 ounce, drug paraphernalia and eight firearms,” Sgt. Don Scalia wrote in a news release.

Adams did not return a call for comment Wednesday.
