Two women were injured in a a three-vehicle accident that closed southbound lanes of Thompson Bridge Road just north of the Green Street split Thursday night around 6 p.m.

The women were riding in the same vehicle. They were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with what emergency officials called serious but non-life-threatening injuries. 

No one in the other vehicles was taken to the hospital for injuries.
