Jessica Leigh Stowers and Paul Carlyle were united in marriage at 1 p.m. April 16, 2011, at Timber Ridge Baptist Church in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Betty Hulsey Wilcocks and Robert Nyle Wilcocks of St. Lutz, Fla., and Anthony Lois Stowers and Beth Shelnutt Stowers of Lula. The groom is the son of Paulette Ryals Carlyle and Issac Wayne Carlyle of Lula.
The Rev. Dwayne Ryals, the Rev. W.A. Jenkins and the Rev. Anthony Cook performed the ceremony. Pianist Shelly Martin and vocalists Lexy, Rhonda, Casey and the Rev. Dwayne Ryals presented a program of wedding music.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s friends Mandy Dale of Gainesville and Jessi Evans of Lula were matrons of honor. The groom’s sister Beth Carlyle of Lula was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friend Brittany Cook of Lula, bride’s cousins Erica Cain of Gillsville, Lexy Ryals of Gillsville, Madison Cain of Gillsville, Whitny Stowers of Covington and groom’s niece Annaleigh Carlyle of Lula. The groom’s niece Maelyn Carlyle of Lula and bride’s cousin Lillian Stowers of Clarksville, Tenn., and friend Addi Evans of Lula were the flower girls.
The groom’s father was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s brothers Allan Carlyle and Joseph Carlyle both of Lula, groom’s cousins Joshua Ryals and Jarrad Ryals both of Lula and groom’s friends Caleb Ryals, Chad Dale, and Khip Miller all of Gainesville. The groom’s nephew Jacob Carlyle of Lula was the ring bearer.
Fonda Stowers was the wedding coordinator. Mary Carlyle kept the bride’s book.
The bride carried a handkerchief from a hat she wore as a baby.
The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Pop’s Barn in Lula on the eve of the wedding.
The bride’s parents gave a reception at Timber Ridge Fellowship Hall in Gainesville following the ceremony.
Following a honeymoon to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple reside in Lula.
