A recent food drive co-sponsored by First Presbyterian Church in Gainesville and ProMusica collected 1,200 pounds of food and $500 in financial contributions for the Georgia Mountain Food Bank.

The food drive was associated with the Spivey Hall Children’s Tour Choir concert presented by ProMusica. The food drive took place March 6 at the church with the concert on March 7. The 1,200 pounds of food equates to nearly 950 meals.

The food bank, which serves Dawson, Forsyth, Hall, Lumpkin and Union counties, has distributed more than 200,000 pounds of food from the community so far this year.
