Ms. Lisa Shockley Moery of Atlanta and Dr. Phillip Weiss Moery of McKenzie, Tenn., announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Sophia Katharine Moery to Mr. Patrick Kelly Moore, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Kelly Moore of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Virginia Davis Shockley of Atlanta, the late Mr. Walter Wray Shockley and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bryan Moery.

She is a 2000 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2004 from Vanderbilt University in Nashville with a bachelor’s degree in political science and human & organizational development. She is employed as a director of communications with The Nashville Health Care Council in Nashville. She serves on the board of the Nashville Women’s Political Caucus and volunteers with Catholic Charities Refugee Services and the Nashville Humane Association.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Edward Moore and the Rev. and Mrs. Edward Daniel Jr. He is a 1999 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2004 from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He is employed as a civil engineer with Black and Veatch in Nashville. He volunteers with Catholic Charities Refugee Services.

The couple plan to wed June 5, 2010, at Apalachee United Methodist Church in Madison.
