Michael and Tracey Jo Forrester of Clermont announce the engagement of their daughter Kayla Jordan Forrester to Anthony Ryan Garland, son of Tony and Donna Garland of Erwin, Tenn.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Bobby Jordan and Brendann Jordan, both of Gillsville, and Mose and Sharon Forrester of Clermont The bride-elect is the great-granddaughter of the late Blanche "Poncie" Taylor.

She plans to graduate in 2009 from Chestatee High School in Gainesville. She plans to attend East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn. in the fall pursuing a pre-medical degree. She is employed as a hostess and server with Chili's in Gainesville and Johnson City, Tenn.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Jack and Nancy Metcalf, John Garland, Barbara Fink and Marjorie Hall, all of Erwin.

He is a 2002 graduate of Unicoi County High School in Erwin. He is pursuing a degree in millwright technology from Tennessee Technology Center in Elizabethton, Tenn. He is employed in the curing department as a mold changer with Speciality Tires of America in Erwin.

The couple plan to wed May 15, 2009, at the Highlands Resort in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
