Breast Cancer Awareness Paint Night

When: 6-8 p.m. Sept. 27

Where: Masterpiece Mixers Paint & Party, 121 Washington St. SE, Gainesville and 7435 Spout Springs Road, Braselton

How much: $35

More info: Braselton, Gainesville

Masterpiece founder Krista Goodrich said the staff keeps participants entertained with a series of small games and raffles over the two-hour event.

“It’s led in a really fun, interactive manner,” she said. “It’s not like a boring class where it’s really strict.”

The event is sponsored by Skogies and The Times, and Goodrich said participants can bring snacks and drinks, including beer, wine and soda.

“It’s very personalized,” Goodrich said. “Our instructors are very one-on-one with the students, and normally when people paint with us, they pretty much stay with us for the rest of time.”

Participants can keep their painting after the $35 event, and half of the proceeds will go to the charity.

“My aunt died of breast cancer, so any time I can contribute in any way, of course I’m happy to do so,” Goodrich said.
