The passing of cheese, the flowing of wine and the bidding on auction items are all parts of one event with a single goal in mind: raising funds for charity.

The Georgia Mountains Vintage Affair will feature tapas, wine, music, a high-end silent auction and raffle at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at the Sautee Nacoochee Center community hall. Proceeds from the tickets sales will benefit the Sautee Nacoochee Center and Community Helping Hands Clinic. The SNC is a not-for-profit arts and environmental organization while CHHC is a charitable agency proving free healthcare to the uninsured in White County.

“Folks from each organization decided to hold an event that would benefit each charity while giving our supporters an opportunity to enjoy a fun, relaxing evening with wine, food, music and friends,” SNC Executive Director Judy Barber said.

Tapas and wine pairings will satisfy diners’ taste buds while local jazz guitarist Kip Dockery entertains the guests. A silent auction will feature original artwork from area artists and adventure packages, as well as a selection of regional, domestic and international wines.

To further excitement leading up to the event, anyone wishing to take part may purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win one of four special prizes. Winners will be announced during the evening. Ticket holders unable to attend the event will still be eligible to win one of these prizes.

Proceeds will enable the two White County nonprofit organizations to further their missions to enhance the lives of residents and visitors in the community.

“Only good things can develop when multiple agencies join together for the betterment of their community,” Community Helping Hands Clinic Executive Director Gene White said . “The health care provided by CHHC and the cultural enrichment benefiting so many through the programming at SNC are crucial to the quality of life found in North Georgia. Georgia Mountains Vintage Affair is a way for our supporters to connect with one another and stretch their dollars to help two deserving organizations.”
