Wine enthusiasts wishing to imbibe in the reds and whites fermented and corked in Northeast Georgia will have a chance this weekend.
The third annual Dahlonega Wine Trail will be from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, and 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, in Northeast Georgia.
Visitors may purchase a passport to five Dahlonega and Lumpkin County wineries for a $30 per person, with the first 1,200 receiving a souvenir glass. Participants then head to one or all of the five wineries to redeem a free taste with a ticket stub in the passport. Many local tasting rooms in downtown Dahlonega are also offering specials for passport holders.
Wineries involved in the trail are Cavender Creek Vineyards & Winery, Frogtown Cellars, Montaluce Winery & Estates, Three Sisters Vineyards & Winery and Wolf Mountain Vineyards & Winery.
Wine trail patrons are encouraged to begin the trail event at the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Visitors Center at 13 S. Park St. in Dahlonega. They may also pick up maps and visitor information.
Passports may be purchased online by visiting dahlonega.org and clicking on third annual Dahlonega Wine Trail. Passports can be picked up at the Dahlonega Visitors Center from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
No refunds and patrons must present photo ID to pick up.
