Back for its 15th anniversary production, Horizon Theatre Company turns “ho ho ho” into “ha ha ha” as it reprises its popular production of “The Santaland Diaries” by award-winning satirist David Sedaris.

The merry misanthrope, played by Harold M. Leaver, recounts the tale of an out-of-work writer working as a Macy’s department store elf named Crumpet. Besieged by bratty children with overzealous parents and donning a humiliating costume, Crumpet finds his cynical self and elfin alter ego are not exactly compatible. His remedy for the saccharine overdose is to tell all — giving the audience a backstage pass to the secret lives of Santas and elves.

Performances are 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 8:30 p.m. Saturdays and 6 p.m. Sundays Nov. 22 through Dec. 31 at the Horizon Theater. No performances will be on Nov. 26 and 28 or Dec. 3 and 25. Additional performances will be at 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 30.

General admission is $25 to $40. VIP tickets cost an extra $15 and includes reserved seats plus a complimentary beverage.
