Residents will celebrate freedom during annual Juneteenth
Event marks anniversary of Lincolns Emancipation Proclamation on Midtown Greenway

Live music, hot foods and an array of activities will be bustling around the Midtown Greenway for the annual Juneteenth celebration.

The event will be 4-8 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at the 682 Grove St. in Gainesville. It will include health checks as well as booths featuring community clubs, city organizations and various vendors.

Music will be provided by Been There Done That, soloist Kelly Spain, Grilled Cheez and Open Mic Band.

Children will be entertained with clowns and receive free face painting.

Readings and poetry will be done by various people. And Cheryl Brown will conduct zumba demonstrations.
