When it comes to celebrating St. Patrick's Day, the folks at the Irish Bred Pub believe that practice makes perfect.

"On the 17th of every month, we do a practice run," said Kevin Gunter, pub general manager.

"We do green beer, corned beef and cabbage and Irish music."

Although St. Patrick's Day is officially the 17th day of March, every other month, the 17th is known as St. Practice Day at the pub.

If you're a fan of the holiday in general, and maybe green beer specifically, you'll get your chance to indulge in both on Monday. The Men of Melody Duo will be performing.

Irish Bred opens at 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday and closes at midnight Monday through Wednesday and 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Sunday operating hours are from noon to midnight.

The pub is located at the Lakeshore Mall in Gainesville, 150 Pearl Nix Parkway.

The establishment opened in July and features a full bar, pool tables and a stage for live performances.

In addition to the monthly homage to St. Patrick's Day, the pub also offers weekly entertainment opportunities, including Texas hold 'em poker on Tuesdays and trivia nights on Wednesdays.

At 8 p.m. Saturday, Irish Bred will be showing the Falcons playoff game.

Although Irish Bred's presence in Gainesville is less than a year old, the chain has its "hybrid sports bars/nightclubs" all over Georgia. Besides the local establishment, there are also locations in Douglasville, Hapeville and West Point among other places.
