Piedmont singers spring concert

Choral works from the 16th to 21st century will reverberate through the Center for Worship and Music in Demorest as the Piedmont College Singers present its spring concert.
The free concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, in the chapel at 992 Central Ave.
Directed by Dr. Wallace Hinson and accompanied by Louise Bass on the Sewell Organ, the 52 members of the Piedmont Singers will perform works by Peter Phillips, Richard Burchard, Daniel Gawthrop, William Walton, Mozart, Stephen Paulus, Ola Gjeilo and Erika Lloyd, as well as African-American spirituals arranged by Moses Hogan, Alice Parker and Robert Shaw.
Soloists for the concert will include Mitchell Auger, Kayleigh Banks, Kate Berardi, Albert Gerring, Megan Holder, Cole Martin, Chey Osoria, Aubrey Peat, Ben Rikeman and Alex Thomlinson.
For Mozart’s “Missa Brevis,” singers will be accompanied by Heather Baird-Strachan and Elizabeth Jobson on violin, Kate Feltgen on viola,and Esther Morgan-Ellis on cello. Graduate assistant Lydie Koffi will conduct the spiritual “We Shall Walk Through the Valley in Peace.”
