“Great Scenes from Great Operas” is the theme for the Piedmont College Opera Workshop class concert. Performed in English, scenes will include selections from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” and “The Impressario,” Giuseppe Verdi’s “Falstaff,” Georges Bizet’s “Carmen,” and Sir Arthur Sullivan’s “Trial By Jury.” The free concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, in the chapel at 992 Central Ave. in Demorest.
