Northwinds Symphonic Band to salute soldiers during performance
The Northwinds Symphonic Band will perform a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church on Green Street in Gainesville. Music selections will pay tribute to military men and woman. Some songs include “God Bless the USA,” and “Stars and Stripes, Forever.”

In honor of the military men and women who have paid the ultimate price for freedom, the Northwinds Symphonic Band will perform its annual concert “Saluting Our Heroes” on Memorial Day.

The free concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 25, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Gainesville on Green Street.

During the event, veterans will be honored with a parade to “National Emblem March” and “Armed Forces — A Tribute.” Other selections during the concert will include “Liberty Fanfare,” “God Bless the USA,” “America, the Beautiful,” and “Stars and Stripes, Forever.”

Featured solo vocalists are Michelle Martin and Jonathan Jackson. Guest narrator is Connie Hardee-Gregory.
