Ever wish you could get back to the good ol’ days? You’re in luck. The Arts Council is bringing back by popular demand the Back In Time band on Aug. 5 as part of its 2017 Summer MusicFest series.
Back in Time brings back musical memories from the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s with hits like “My Girl” by The Temptations, “It’s Not Unusual” by Tom Jones, “Desperado” by The Eagles, and of course the band's namesake "Back in Time," by Hewy Lewis and the News.
The nine piece band features: Jonathan Jackson on lead vocals and guitar; Bob Cowles on saxophone and vocals; Tom Wallace on trumpet and vocals; Michael Crook on trumpet, percussion and vocals; Rory Crook on trombone, percussion and vocals; Glenn Brown on lead guitar and vocals; John Harriman on bass and vocals; and Chuck McKissick on drums.
The concert will take place on the lawn of The Arts Council Smithgall Arts Center at 8 p.m. Gates will open at 6 p.m. for picnickers. Sweet Butts BBQ will be onsite with a food. Attendees can bring lawn chairs, picnics and beverages of choice.
The band performs an all-ages, family friendly show. Tickets are $20 for adults. Seniors and students tickets are $18. Tables of eight are $210. There is a 7 percent tax added to all ticket sales. For tickets, call 770-534-2787 or visit www.TheArtsCouncil.net.
