Music to bloom in Gainesville botanical garden

Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell will perform at the first summer concert at the Atlanta Botanical Garden Gainesville on June 13.

As the Atlanta Botanical Gardens Gainesville, A Smithgall Woodland Legacy, is open for the season, annual summer concerts will start cropping up, too.

The 13th annual outdoor series features 10 great acts at the Atlanta venue while three acts are slated for the garden
in Gainesville.

Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell will kick off the concerts Saturday, June 13, at 1911 Sweetbay Drive. The Temptations will follow July 11 with Scotty McCreery on July 17.

Gates open at 7 p.m., and shows begin at 8 p.m. Tickets for the June 13 event are $58.50 for nonmembers, $56.50 for members. Seating is general admission, and ticketholders are welcome to bring blankets or low-rise chairs. Ticket prices for other concerts vary; for details, visit concertsinthegarden.org.

Garden admission is $8 adults, $5 children 3-12, and free to children under 3 and Garden members. Tickets may be purchased at ticketalternative.com and at the garden admissions.

The garden is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
