The contest for the coveted People’s Choice trophy will be awarded Saturday, Jan. 30, at Jackson County’s Got Talent, but not without your votes.

According to a preliminary vote tally, Tammy Babb — who is singing to support the Rotary Club of Jefferson — could be on the way to taking home another trophy.

She and her partner, Bruce Yates, won the 2014 People’s Choice trophy for Dancing with the Stars — Jackson County Style. After two years of the dancing competition, the Jackson County Arts Council switched things up and expanded it to a talent contest.

Jackson County’s Got Talent will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at the Jefferson Civic Center. There the quality of competition will be matched by the food, fun and fellowship in addition to fundraising.

Others competing are:

* singer McKenna Brandenburg, representing Braselton Main Street;

* Jenny Ray, who is dancing for Hope Resource Center;

* Mac McKenzie, who is lending his vocal talents for Piedmont CASA;

* the Commerce School of Dance Senior One Troup participating for Commerce Public Library;

* and the Dazzlers, dancing for the East Jackson Comprehensive High School Dance Team.
