‘Tire to Inspire’

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16

Where: Chestatee High School, 3005 Sardis Road, Gainesville

Cost: Free

In one hour, Hall County Sheriff’s Sgt. Greg Cochran will attempt to flip a 555-pound tire more than 205 times to break a world record.

The “Tire to Inspire” will be from 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Chestatee High School, 3005 Sardis Road, in Gainesville. Admission to the event is free.

The event will also raise money for two worthy causes. Proceeds from the sponsors, including North Hall Tire & Wheel, Texas Roadhouse, Syfan Logistics, Reebok, Record Setter and The Vitamin Shoppe, will benefit the Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Homes and Chestatee High School’s Community Service Program.

“The work that these two organizations do for our community is invaluable,” Cochran said. “I am proud to bring awareness of their missions to the forefront while also promoting the benefits of physical fitness, a true passion of mine and a major initiative for the Sheriff’s Office under the leadership of Hall County Sheriff Gerald Couch.”

Since taking office, Couch has implemented a department-wide physical fitness requirement to ensure all officers are capable of performing the necessary physical duties of a law enforcement official.
