Tenor Marc Deaton performs Saturday night at Piedmont College.

Tenor Marc Deaton will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Piedmont College in Demorest.

Deaton, accompanied by Lucas Wong on piano and narrator Robert Glass, will perform "Ein Heldenleben: The Hero in German Opera."

Deaton's opera performances include roles in "Tristan and Isolde," "Siegfried," "Moses und Aron," and "Carmen" with leading opera companies and orchestras. In 2010, he released two CDs: "Sehnsucht," featuring the lieder of Richard Strauss; and "A Wagner Portrait," conducted by Glen Cortese.

Deaton will perform pieces by Handel, Mozart, Beethoven and Strauss.

The concert is open to the community. Tickets are $10, $5 for seniors and students, free to Piedmont College students, faculty and staff.
