Many people are trained to respond to health emergencies and provide basic first aid to humans, but what about their four-legged friends? To deal with that unique situation, the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia and the American Red Cross is joining forces to train pet owners for animal emergencies. The American Red Cross Pet First Aid Instruction will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 26, in the community room at the humane society’s facility at 845 W. Ridge Road in Gainesville.
