Tree huggers and jam circles are coming together this weekend for three days of outdoor fun, rockin' shows and crafts galore. The Etowah Jam Band Festival in Dahlonega promises to offer something for all ages.

Bands performing will cover numerous genres including rock, fusion rock, Native American flute and even a drumming circle.

This year's fest will feature Dahlonega's own Wright Flight, an unsigned band that brings together classic rock, experimental rock and jam band genres.

The group's website says it is "inspired by many styles of music, and artists. We focus on original songs, with a open heart to expand our consciousness. As musicians, we have a lot going on within us in this life's journey to gather as we live and learn. We seek for self wholeness, and personal growth in all directions."

Arts and crafts, a Cherokee hut and teepee, and food vendors will round out the event.

In addition to festival events, there will be river access, trout fishing and tubing at the Etowah Campground and a "slippery slide" for the young at heart.

Campsites will be available along the Etowah River for those wishing to get in touch with their natural side. If you are planning on camping for a day or weekend, call 706-864-9035 in advance for availability.

Visit Etowah Jam Band Festival on Facebook to see the lineup of performers. Tickets are available at the gate and kids age 10 and younger are admitted free.
